Ben Trickey Gets Noisier, Darker, More Atmospheric on New LP

Atlanta-based singer-songwriter Ben Trickey has a new album coming out November 17th, and it’s a bit of a departure from the straightforward folk-rock fare fans have come to expect.

“It’s a different type of project,” he says of Horizon Line Fires. “I just wanted to do something that got into some other sonic territory and danced on the line of noisier goth and atmospheric stuff.”

Recorded at his home, the LP features Trickey backed by a group called Burnt Sky: guitarist Sean Greathead (a onetime Atlantan now living in Queens, formerly of the bands Wheeljack and Mascara Aesthetic), violinist Jonathan Griffin, vocalist Tiffany Leigh Blalock and drummer Kelsey Wilson.
