Atlanta post-punk trio Omni will release the follow-up to last year’s debut album Deluxe on September 22nd. Recorded with friend and engineer Nathanial Higgins at his studio as well as a remote cabin in the woods near Vienna, Georgia. Multi-task is being released on the indie label Trouble in Mind.
Sharing its name with downtown Atlanta’s now-demolished pre-Philips Arena sports and entertainment complex, Omni consists of guitarist Frankie Broyles (ex-Deerhunter), vocalist/bassist Phillip Frobos and new drummer Doug Bleichner (ex-Warehouse). Together they weave a wiry collision of funk-fused agit-pop and glammy new wave that has garnered praise both close to home and around the globe. They have two Georgia dates upcoming – The EARL in Atlanta on July 20th and the Caledonia Lounge in Athens on August 3rd – in the midst of a string of Southeastern and Midwestern US shows. Then it’s across the Atlantic for three and a half weeks of shows in Great Britain and the European mainland.
