Atlanta Hawks organist Sir Foster, who’s been playing during the NBA team’s home games since 2009, has released his debut album, Future World Record Holder, available digitally through iTunes here:
Limited quantities can also be found in the Atlanta Hawks Team Shop inside Philips Arena.
Foster, whose stature got a boost in 2014 when he played during the 2014 NBA All-Star Game, wrote all the songs on Record Holder, and sings, plays piano and saxophone on the album. Born Foster Carson, the 31-year-old grew up in Fort Valley, Georgia. He began taking piano lessons at age six and has been performing music publicly in various capacities since age fifteen. After growing up first hoping to be a basketball player, and later a musician, Foster’s found an unconventional way to bridge both worlds. He’s become notable for performing organ versions of Atlanta hip-hop songs at Hawks games.
