Atlanta band Blackfox features alumni from an assortment of local groups spanning well over three decades (Lipstick Stains, anyone?), the core members having played both separately and, in several cases, together in the same groups.
Blackfox came together several years back with a sound that might best be described as “Gothic Americana.” Now, having expanded their lineup to nine members, including backing vocalists Monica Arrington and Andy Gish, the ensemble has also taken its sound far beyond twisted roots. Their new CD, La Brea, lurches in numerous disconnected directions including country-pop, gospel blues and rugged rock.
The album release show for La Brea is March 30th at the Atlanta Room at Smith’s Olde Bar.
