Atlanta-connected rock trio Dasher, now based in or around Bloomington, Indiana, will see its debut album Sodium released by Bloomington indie label Jagjaguwar on July 14th.
Formed in 2012 and led by ferocious drummer/vocalist Kylee Kimbrough, Dasher bashes out dizzying psych/punk/hardcore detonations that leave listeners disheveled, disoriented and salivating for more. Indeed, Sodium as a whole lasts longer than most Dasher performances, which average between a whirlwind 20 to 30 minutes a pop.
The lineup of the group that plays on the Jason Kingsland-produced Sodium was the final version of the band before Kimbrough split town near the end of 2014, including guitarist David Michaud (now in Atlanta band Nurse) and bassist Rob Sarabia (now with Atlanta band Mutual Jerk). The current, Ohio-based lineup, which will play The EARL on Sunday, August 6th, includes guitarist Steve Garcia and bassist Gary Magilla.
