Oak House are an ascendant indie rock band with members split between Athens and Atlanta. Formed during the winter of 2014, the trio (vocalist/guitarist Gresham Cash, bassist Connor Sabula and drummer Wes Gregory) convey what could be described as a Radiohead vibe propelled by passion and percussion that builds and erupts in bursts of guitar cacophony that lay waste to any notions of mellowing out.
Due out April 7th, the self-released Hot or Mood, Oak House’s second full-length album, was recorded in Athens with engineer Drew Vandenberg (of Montreal, Kishi Bashi, Deerhunter, Mothers) at Chase Park Transduction. They’re touring out to South by Southwest in Austin during March, but before and after they have shows in Atlanta at The EARL on March 10th (opening for Seattle’s Deep Sea Diver and Atlanta’s Shantih Shantih), and 529 on March 31st. Their Athens release show is set for April 8th at the Caledonia Lounge.
