Athens’ Cinemechanica Reemerges to Release 2nd Full-Length LP

Athens-based “math rock” group Cinemechanica will release their first album in ten years come September 23rd, when their hometown indie label Arrowhawk Records will issue the band’s new self-titled LP.

For the recording, the core trio – guitarist Bryant Williamson, bassist Joel Hatstat and drummer Mike Albanese (the latter also of Maserati) – were joined by guitarist/vocalist Jordan Olivera of the band Manray. For the band’s upcoming live performances, however, Bryan Aiken (of Atlanta’s intense prog-metal trio Lazer/Wulf) will take Olivera’s place.

The band’s fall tour begins Oct. 11th in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and wraps up Oct 24th in Lexington, Kentucky. One assumes there will be dates in Athens and Atlanta either before or after the tour, as well.
