Alan Jackson, Candi Staton Appear on Star-Studded Muscle Shoals Album

Newnan’s Alan Jackson and Atlanta resident Candi Staton appear alongside a gathering of some of country, pop, rock and blues music’s biggest stars on Muscle Shoals…Small Town, Big Sound, a recently released tribute album reimagining some of the classic songs to have emerged from the Muscle Shoals, Alabama recording scene.

Jackson covers The Rolling Stones’ “Wild Horses” (originally cut in 1969 at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio, while Canton’s 2014 track “I Ain’t Easy to Love” (written by Muscle Shoals songwriter James LeBlanc, produced by FAME Studios founder Rick Hall and featuring Jason Isbell and John Paul White), closes the album.

Other artists on the album include Steven Tyler, Alison Krauss, Willie Nelson, Chris Stapleton, Lee Ann Womack, Kid Rock, Vince Gill, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Keb’ Mo’ and Eli “Paperboy” Reed, to name a few.
