Metal Blade Records will release Old Scars, New Wounds, the new album from Act of Defiance, on September 29th. The thrash metal band is officially headquartered in Los Angeles, but boasts Atlanta-based Shawn Drover on drums.
Originally from Quebec, Drover founded the Canadian power metal band Eidolon with his brother Glen in 1993. In 2004, both brothers joined the well-established metal band Megadeth; Glen left after four years, but Drover continued on for a full ten years, the longest duration of any drummer in that band.
In 2014, Drover formed Act of Defiance with Chris Broderick, the guitarist who’d replaced his brother in Megadeth. Old Scars, New Wounds is their second album, following 2015’s Birth and the Burial. The 51-year-old drummer has a wife, son, daughter and grandson.
