1961 Album by Johnny Mercer and Bobby Darin Gets Reissue

Lyricist (and sometimes composer and singer) of some of the most beloved songs of the 20th century, Savannah-born Johnny Mercer recorded a lively collaborative album with vocalist Bobby Darin in 1961. Long out of print, Two of a Kind will be reissued on March 24th on an expanded edition CD by Omnivore Recordings.

With backing by arranger Billy May & His Orchestra, Two of a Kind pays homage to the Tin Pan Alley era. The original album’s 13 tracks (newly remastered by Grammy Award-winning engineer Michael Graves) are augmented on this new edition with seven previously unissued performances – five alternate takes, and two songs recorded for, but omitted from the original album.
