CSU Guitar Symposium and Competition

Feb. 24 & 25 • Columbus

Columbus State University presents its 19th annual Guitar Symposium and Competition on Feb. 24 and 25, 2018 at the River Center for Performing Arts. The two-day festival attracts guitarists at all levels from around the world who participate in concerts, master classes, lectures and an international competition with divisions for middle school through professional levels.

Featured performers include Croatian classical guitarist Zoran Dukic; Grammy winner Jason Vieaux; 13-time top prize winner guitarist and Texas A&M University professor Isaac Bustos; and CSU professor and internationally recognized guitarist Andrew Zohn.

First prize in Division I Competition is a Kenny Hill Performance Model Guitar by Martinez, valued at $5,000; First Prize in Division II Competition is a guitar crafted by luthier Chai Di, also valued at $5,000; and First Prize in Divisions III competition is a guitar crafted by luthier Renjun Fang, valued at $3,00o.

Symposium faculty members include Julia Gray, Stephen Mattingly, Yi Chen, Marc Teicholz and Mary Akerman.
